Mr. Mario Costa founded his company in 1919 and nowadays the Mario Costa Spa is a leader in production of Gorgonzola Cheese thanks to the great tradition and also to the respect for processing that bestow on products an unmistakable quality.
It is unbelievable, but the name of one of the products of the company, the Dolcificato Costa (sweetened Gorgonzola), was patented too.

Il Signor Mario Costa fondò la sua azienda nel 1919 ed oggigiorno la Mario Costa Spa è una delle aziende leader nella produzione di Gorgonzola grazie ad una grande tradizione e al rispetto in fase di produzione che garantiscono ai prodotti un’inconfondibile qualità.
E’ incredibile, ma il nome di uno dei prodotti dell’azienda, il Dolcificato Costa, è stato anche brevettato.

One of the restaurants we frequented when we lived in Berkeley, CA, featured this cheese on one of our favorite salads! I didn't know where it came from. Thanks for the history.
