This picture, deliberately underexposed to highlight the sparkling ceiling lamp, is a detail of Borra Jeweller's shop.

It is a fantastic contrast between an Italian design masterpiece (Taraxacum light (1988) by Achille Castiglioni) that sparkles like a diamond and the two neoclassical black columns with red capitals.

Un fantastico contrasto tra un capolavoro del design Italiano (lampadario Taraxacum (1988) di Achille Castiglioni) che brilla come un diamante e due colonne neoclassiche nere con un capitello rosso.

Yesterday night has been the first Christmas sleepless night in Italy; shops, museums and monuments free opened till 2:00 am, concerts and performances in the streets of the centre, free food and drinks and much more to celebrate Christmas.

This is a view of Novara by night from the middle level (70m height) of the San Gaudenzio's Dome.

This little square, Piazza delle Erbe, is the historical centre of Novara.

The polichrome roof

And today a bit of Novara history again.

Built in 1766 and renovated several times during the years, the Collegio Gallarini today is the building that hosts the Academy of Music.

One of the wonderful details of the Collegio is the polichrome roof, realized with 5000 red, yellow, black and brown roofing tiles.

Costrutito nel 1766 e restaurato più volte nel corso degli anni, il Collegio Gallarini è l’edificio che oggi ospita il Conservatorio.
Uno dei fantastici dettagli del Collegio è il tetto policromo, realizzato con 5000 tegole rosse, gialle, nere e marroni.

Yes, Novara has been globalized too few years ago and, you know, this is not a traditional Novarese dish...but I must admit that I love French fries!

I love thinking that probably everybody of us has already eaten this kind of potatoes in one's city...so far so near!

This is not a spider web, but an electricity pylon seen looking the sky...another blue sky, another caleidoscopic view.

But I was hesitant in taking this picture...and tomorrow you will find out the reason...

Pixel Rainbow

After the wonderful sunset yesterday, this morning an incredible blue sky without any cloud and a perfect green lawn (...even if we are in December...) were the ideal background for the Sambonet pixel facade by day.

The "black" windows are the willo-o-the-wisp that light on in the night.

Dopo il meraviglioso tramonto di ieri, questa mattina un incredibile cielo blu senza neanche una nuvola ed un perfetto prato verde (…nonostante siamo a Dicembre…) rappresentavano lo sfondo ideale per la facciata pixelata della Sambonet di giorno.
Le finestre “nere” sono i fuochi fatui che si accendono la notte.

Calm after the storm

After a rainy week, this evening, at 5 p.m. o'clock, the sunset has cut the cloudy sky with a golden surreal light.

I do not know why, but this picture remembers me some works of Magritte...probably due to the strange relation between lights on (road and cars lamps, sunset) and shadows in the bottom of the photo.

La quiete dopo la tempesta
Dopo una settimana piovosa, questa sera, intorno alle 17, il tramonto ha squarciato il cielo nuvoloso con una surreale lama di luce dorata.
Non so perché, ma questa foto mi ricorda il lavoro di Magritte…forse la strana relazione tra le luci accese (i lampioni stradali, i fanali delle macchine, il tramonto) e le ombre nella parte bassa della foto.

The facade of the design company Sambonet (Orfengo - Novara) turns into a lighting pixelated rainbow during the night.

I will post in the next days two other views, a day-time shot and a long-time exposed picture by night.

The architectural project is by Frigerio Design Group.
